Organizovano čitanje i tumačenje Mesnevije u Bosni i Hercegovini počinje sa vakufom bosanskog beglerbega Derviš-paše Bajezidagića u njegovom rodnom gradu, Mostaru i njegovom vakufnamom iz 1010/1602. godine. Odredbama je pravno utemeljio i infrastrukturno obezbijedio oformljeni centar za čitanje i tumačenje Mesnevije. Pobrinuo se za  mesnevihana, za knjige, mjesto održavanja predavanja i način plaćanja mesnevihana. Važna direktiva iz vakufname  je usul (način) predavanja te kriteriji učenosti i moralne kreposti samog mesnevihana, kako bi slušatelji s punim povjerenjem usvojili Mevlanine pouke. Protokom vremena mijenjala se infrastruktura, društvene forme, literatura iz koje se crpilo tumačenje, političke okolnosti, ali je usul i moralni kredibilitet mesnevihanova ostao do danas. Nakon 422 godine još uvijek u Bosni i Hercegovini postoji i halka za tumačenje Mesnevije i mesnevihanovi, kao i publikovani prijevodi, komentari, studije, radovi te različite elektronske forme vezane za Mevlanu i njegovu Mesneviju.

 

The Masnavi and its Interpretatoin in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Abstract:
The organized reading and interpretation of the Masnavi in Bosnia and Herzegovina began with the endowment (waqf) of the Bosnian beylerbey Dervish Pasha Bajazidagić in his hometown of Mostar and his endowment certificate (waqfnama) dated 1010 AH/1602 CE. With its provisions, he legally and infrastructurally established a center dedicated to the reading and interpretation of the Masnavi. He arranged for a masnavihan (interpreter of the Masnavi), for the books, for the venue of the lectures, and for the remuneration of the masnavihan.
One of the key directives of the waqfnama concerns the usul (method) of teaching, as well as the required level of knowledge and moral integrity of the masnavihan, so that listeners could confidently absorb Mawlana's teachings.
Over time, the infrastructure, social context, interpretive literature, and political circumstances have changed, but the usul and the moral credibility of the masnavihans have remained constant.  Four hundred and twenty two years later, circles (halqas) for interpreting the Masnavi still exist in Bosnia and Herzegovina today, as do masnavihans, along with published translations, commentaries, scholarly studies, and various digital formats related to Mawlana and his Masnavi.
